13. YOUR PRESENT AND FUTURE
What is life? Is life time? Because as long as there is time for you is your life. Life or time is divided into three important parts. Your Past- a time you have lived and a life that has ended. Your present- a time with which you are now and a life you are living. Your future – which is going to come and a life that you have to live. These three periods of time can be the basis of existence for any organism. Usually, your present means more for your existence.
Our special discussion is on a specific matter about the three periods of time. You must have read or heard that we should not consider what happened in the past and live in our present without worrying about the future; Is not it. This is also absolutely true. If I ask you honestly whether you really work in the present without thinking about your past and future. Do not hurry, think and answer this question. Now maybe your answer will be; No. Although some people could answer “yes” and give it too. You eat food because if you don’t eat then you know very well what your future will be.
If you are preparing for a competitive exam, suppose you failed in the first attempt and now you are again preparing for that exam. Now what will you do to not fail again? You will work harder than before; Is not it. All right! But how will we know our weakness, when we will look back in our past only then; Is not it. You should also think in the present that we had made this mistake in past, so today I am this. If I do this in the present, it will be done. If we drink a glass of water too, we drink only after thinking about our future.
A step back success: –
One step back does not mean that you will go back and do something very good and everything will be right. Every moment of your present changes into the past just in the blink of an eye. And it stays behind. So what we need is for what purpose we have used that moment. Can we understand the small fraction of that time? The smallest work you do in your present, even if it is a taking of water, changes your future. Every person who is close to you and these natural things that you are associated with, all of them affect your life. Every step of your present changes momentarily into the past, so doing anything small or big in your present. First of all, think that it will not have any wrong effect on your life as well as the lives of others. You cannot correct your past time, so live your present in such a way that you do not feel that you have made a mistake in the past. Do you believe that right now you are creating the past and future in your present? If your present will be as meaningful as your future will also be meaningful. These three periods of time are not far from you, and they are released from the same point of time and it is your present.
You can neither go to the past nor look into the future, but you can save both from ruin, by staying in the present and it is up to you. There are some beneficial moments in life from every person who plays an important role in building your future. If you live every moment of your present with a purpose, then only you will be able to understand that welfare time, otherwise you can spend it sleeping or gossiping.
We may work in the present, but we should keep one eye on our past and the other in the present and keep our goals firmly in the future. We learn more from our mistakes, so we should not be late to see our mistakes back in the past and learn from them. If you look towards the past or future, you will get sorrow but success is certain. If we focus only on our present, then perhaps we will be happy, but there is very little chance that we can do something good and be successful.
If we focus only on the present, then there are many people in our society who in doing so, no one will think what will be the result. He will only make sense from the present. But this is not usually the case. If we look carefully, there will also be some people who mean only by their present, what happened yesterday and what will happen tomorrow does not matter to them. Your coming day is better than yours today, so learn from your past and set a goal in the future. It is very important.
Summary:-
What is life? Is life time? Because as long as there is time for you, that is your life. Life or time is divided into three important parts:
- Your Past – a time you have lived and a life that has ended.
- Your Present – the time you are currently living.
- Your Future – the time that is yet to come and the life you still have to live.
All three are part of your existence, but your present holds the most significance. While people say “Don’t worry about the past or the future,” in truth, our actions in the present are often influenced by both.
Ask yourself honestly — do you truly live in the present without thinking about the past or the future? Probably not. For example, you eat food today thinking about your health tomorrow. If you failed once in an exam, you prepare again by learning from past mistakes.
A Step Back Toward Success
Taking one step back doesn’t mean failure — it can be a moment of reflection. Your present becomes your past in a blink. What matters is how you used that moment. Even the smallest actions today can influence your future. Every decision counts — even drinking water with awareness.
So always ask: Will this action have a good or bad effect on my life and others around me?
You can’t correct your past, but you can create a future you won’t need to correct — by living consciously in the present.
Time is Interconnected
All three — past, present, and future — are connected by the thread of your current actions. You cannot travel to the past or see the future, but you can protect them both by staying mindful in the now.
Live every moment with purpose. Recognize the value of small moments and people in your life. Don’t let time slip away in gossip or distraction.
Balance is the Key
Work in the present, but keep one eye on the lessons of the past and the other on the goals of the future. You’ll find sorrow in memories or fears — but also wisdom and guidance.
Living only in the present without awareness of consequences can lead to careless actions. On the other hand, living completely in the past or future robs you of the only time that’s real: now.
Let your past guide you, your present shape you, and your future inspire you.
