Chapter -25. WHY ARE YOU ALIVE?

25. WHY ARE YOU ALIVE?

You are alive; are you not? But why are you alive? You are alive because you feel that your end time has not arrived yet. Your age is yet to live, secondly you are completely healthy now. Apart from all these things, other things also keep you alive. That is life around you and your environment, life happens around you. And it can have many types. Your environment creates a medium for your survival in which air, water, food and other things interact with you. We do not usually pay any price for air and water.

Air: – One feels the most need of pure air to live life with a healthy body. And it is absolutely free. Air is one of the five elements, life is impossible without it. Do we get pure air? Can we keep in mind how much clean air is going into our lungs? When you drink water, then you check thoroughly because you do at least a little hard work in drinking water or pay some money for that water. It is important that you check the water before drinking it. Now I ask you whether or not you were breathing 5 seconds ago, you are not aware that you were breathing. At my request, you have noticed your breath; Is not it? But even before you were breathing, you were breathing at all, but you don’t remember that.

Just as fish lives in a place filled with water, in the same way that the atmosphere forms a life medium for the organisms that live out of water. We take oxygen gas from this atmosphere. The most important thing is that we do not have to pay any value for it. It is a gift of nature, and it is priceless and life belongs to it. It is available free of cost; hence its quality is not taken care of. Our life has become very polluted due to the surrounding pollution, perhaps we would have paid more attention to the quality of air when it was available for sale in the market like normal things. You know what are the problems of taking unclean air.

A good amount of oxygen is inhaled in the brain, if the air is contaminated, it can cause changes in body texture. Our brain is the basis of our development, so it is very important to reach pure air in the blood. The impure air greatly influences our thoughts. There is a need to maintain the air around us to the best of our ability. You can understand its importance in such a way that human beings can survive for weeks without food, few days without water, but it is impossible to survive without air. Whatever we eat in our daily life, the maximum weight of air is about 80%. The Vedas describe the seven type of air.

It is absolutely free for you by nature, so it should not mean that we should not pay attention to it. If the air element has so much priority in life, then we should keep trying to keep it pure. Let’s talk about why are you alive?

 Water: –

Water is a valuable gift given by nature, its value reflects the presence or non-presence of life. It is one of the elements in the five elements which forms about 70% of the body. Can we feel the water element in our body? Probably yes. I do not want to describe the scientific facts of water here. You can get scientific fact from anywhere. I want to ask a question, does water live on its own? Think about this question. If you have read the first chapter carefully then it will be easy for you. Okay! I tell you, water is alive in itself and life is in water only when it interacts with air and other elements. If some amount of energy is mixed in water, it is alive. Life can occur even if air or other elements are added to the water. When the water is heated and boiled and the air is released from it, then no living organism can survive in that water obtained. Because the water was now lifeless. There is no air in that water. So air is very important for giving life to our life as well as other living beings. Water is unable to give life to any organism without air. Whether the water we drink is alive or not, it may not matter to you, but that water is very important for aquatic organisms.

Scientists have now also claimed that water also has the ability to remember things. Water is like a liquid memory. Can all people be able to drink pure water, maybe not? If humans drink dirty water, then it is the fault of humans somewhere. Once the human himself muddies the water, then he cleans it, making it drinkable. If you know all this, then save the water from getting dirty. If to make it dirty is your helplessness, then please at least make the less water dirty. If the air and water around you are pure, then the rest of the things will be purified automatically and you can do so. If life happens around you then you will also live. It is your responsibility to keep the things around you organized.

Summary: Why are You Alive?

In this insightful chapter, the author invites us to question a basic yet profound truth—*Why are you alive?* It’s not just about the beating heart or conscious breath, but the environment that sustains you: the **air**, the **water**, and the **life around you**. These elements, freely available, are often ignored or taken for granted—until their absence threatens life itself. The question is answered why are you alive?

The chapter explores the sacred role of pure air and clean water in human survival and development. It urges us to recognize that while we breathe and drink without effort or cost, these natural gifts hold the key to our longevity and clarity of thought. Polluted air affects not just the lungs but the mind and behavior. Similarly, water not only hydrates but also remembers—holding energy, emotion, and life within it.

This reflection leads to a larger call to action: Take care of your environment. When life happens around you in its purest form, your own life thrives. Nature is not separate from us—it is the very reason we exist.
